Future is made of solutions we will find together.

History: words from the Managing Director

" When I was 12, I saw on French television the news about the 1983 famine in Ethiopia and as I grew up, haunted by the images of the tragedy, I started looking for solutions to development issues.

In 1996 , during a marketing audit to Benin (context of the liberalization of the oil sector, with a huge black market crossing the borders of the #1 African oil producer, Nigeria) , I noticed that the part of agribusiness in Africa's development was not up to the fight against poverty and hunger, what could explain many things. It was necessary to rethink about development issues, shift to another paradigm and have a more modern approach.

By the prism of global corporations in which I occupied various functions - marketing and sales - I have analyzed this situation and found six key success factors when it comes to helping each African operator to make the most of his resources, work and expertise.

This is in order to bring new ideas and solutions to help him that Stralter - for " Alternative Strategies" - was created. In the long run, increasing the level of food self-sufficiency through a multidisciplinary approach, the objective is to prevent crisis like the one of 1983 in Ethiopia. "

Philosophy

Producing, implementing a business strategy, negotiating, purchasing, closing deals, prospecting efficiently, communicating, trading, finding microcredit solutions... all these actions are specific jobs. But above all , they are projects. Stralter is the authorized agent of African project operators and food industry is in the core of its business, based on the fact that every positive action on it

creates a virtuous circle for the whole economy.

How can one support these operators potentially capable of satisfying all the markets (local, small export, south-south trade and large export), who are helped to increase their output, without being trained to sell their huge surplus? To have a competitive advantage, business men and women around the globe seek to combine several advantages: the maximum difference between cost and selling price, a stable market and domestic situation, significant capacities of public institutions to purchase, access to free and undistorted continental market, field representatives inside their markets who bring business intelligence and value to their proposition. Above that, add financial aid, efficient means of communication, profitable processing machines, easy to maintain and that meets consumer requirements, a secure access to energy, a constant support for initiatives and innovation, training opportunities (international trade, marketing, strategies, languages, ICTs ... ).

Most of the time, the African farmer has no such room for maneuver. By implementing a new approach, we can put in place the resources that will break down barriers and have the same impact on the fruit of his work, his thoughts. Following a multidisciplinary path will reduce farmers workload and make it possible for African women and men to discover and adopt modern alternatives that will lead them to autonomy, competence and assets improvement.

We have developed DAETUS matrix specifically to allow our African partners to focus on their core business and activities, to achieve the highest level on the market, equal to their competitors.

We bridge the gap between actors. Thus, we aim to:

- provide the rurals with intellectual and tangible tools to raise their standard of living and get both moral and financial benefits out of their activities

- promote global solutions able to ensure greater value at the end of food chain, reducing the gap with major competitors

- initiate and back projects coping with food losses and famines that mortgage peoples efforts to gain dignity and empowerment
